    This is a signed letter from
    Herbert P. Buetow
    (1898-1972).
    Buetow was president of the 3M Company from 1953 to 1963.
    The 3M Company was originally known as the Minnesota
    Mining & Manufacturing Company. Founded in 1902, 3M
    has been one of the most innovative companies in the
    history of American business. Buetow worked for 3M for
    more than forty years. Before becoming president of the
    company, Buetow had served as auditor, controller, treasurer,
    director, and executive vice-president.
    The letter is typed on a piece of stationery with the
    "
    Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing Company" heading
    at the top.
    The stationery is
    about 10" by 7", with Buetow's
    name and position printed near the top left corner.
    The letter
    is dated July 15, 1960. It
    is addressed to the
    late Roger Harris, a well-known autograph collector.
    It is in very good condition, with some moderate wear.
